Beatless by Amber Johnson - review

~ Our review ~

Great book is heart wrenching with true life experiences and complications. It is so spot on with how we are so dramatic and self absorbed at times we don't see the big picture. Are our friends really our friends?  Are our friends good for us? Am I missing something important because I am self absorbed? We miss the important things worrying about the juvenile things until sometimes it's too late or sometimes we wake the hell up and realize this isn't the way I want to live my life.
Beatless is a book about a girl, Mallory, who gets left behind by her family & friends. Her parents divorce and they both leave the state leaving her with her aunt who also recently divorced. Mal's self esteem is pretty much non existent.  Her friends she misses so much nor her parents help this matter but she just excepts it. She has a chance to change her outlook on life and plan her life for her, to make her happy, not what everyone else thinks is cool or exceptable. Can Mallory stand the pressure of old "friends"?
